When we hear the term ” D’var Torah”, many of us think about a Bar or Bat Mitzvah delivering his/her speech on Shabbat.  At the Day School, our students are delivering Divrei Torah (plural) years before their B’nai Mitzvah.  This year, our Three/ Four class has started a new tradition. Each week at Kabbalat Shabbat, one of our students delivers a D’var Torah about the Torah portion or another relevant topic. Our students compose their thoughts and confidently share their Torah knowledge.  We have heard about Jewish heroes such as Abraham, Sarah, Rebecca and most recently Jethro. We have learned about the mitzvah of being kind to widows and orphans, and the deeper meaning of the garments of the Kohen Hagadol.  Please join us for Kabbalat Shabbat on Fridays at 11:45 am.  Shabbat Shalom:)
