Tuition for the 2013 - 2014 Academic Year is $9650.
This includes all fees except the following:
- After School Care:
- Full Time: $1250/year
- Part Time (less than 25 hours/month): $750/year
- Drop in Rate: $5.00/hour
Providing families access to a Jewish education for their children, regardless of income, is a top priority for NEMJDS. An average of 60% of our students receive some form of financial aid to enable them to attend the school. Our scholarship process and tuition reduction programs are described below. Scholarship Application Process:
In order for applicants to apply for Scholarship, a Family Information Form must be on file in the school office.
PSAS, an independent agency designed to assess ability to pay for private school education, has a form which must be completed and returned to them with latest tax year forms, and a $25 processing fee. Click here for PSAS Scholarship Form.
For the Academic Year 2013-14, the deadline to return these forms is April 1, 2013. In order to maximize the amount of tuition assistance a family receives, they should complete the application process by that date. Any applications submitted after that date will be considered, but the amount of financial assistance available may be reduced.
Scholarship Determination Process:
When PSAS makes its Tuition Assistance recommendation, the Business Manager will present the PSAS report anonymously to the Tuition Assistance Committee for review. No member of the Tuition Assistance Committee is aware of the name of the family reviewed. Only the Business Manager and Head of School may have this information. The Business Manager will then present the Tuition Assistance package to the family.
When accepted, a Tuition Contract is then required to hold the student’s space for the given year and secure Tuition Assistance funds. No student may attend classes without the above on file.
If the family wishes to appeal the Tuition Assistance Package, a written request reviewing extenuating circumstances and stating requested amount of Tuition Assistance should be sent to the Business Manager within two weeks.
Tzedek Tuition Reduction
Tzedek, Tzedek T’irdof, “justice, justice we pursue.” The Tzedek Tuition Reduction Plan is intended to provide middle income Jewish families a tuition reduction option in a simple, straightforward process. Tzedek Tuition Reduction Program is available to Jewish families with total household adjusted gross income <$200,000.
If you wish to take advantage of the Tzedek Tuition Reduction Plan, please take the following steps:
- Check the box on the Tuition Enrollment Contract indicating you are making the request.
- Provide the 1st page of 2013 IRS Form 1040 with your Tuition Enrollment Contract in an envelope marked ‘confidential’ and addressed to the Business Manager.
- The Business Office will confirm receipt and confirmation of your request in a timely manner.
