The Head of School is the primary educational and administrative official of the school, ultimately accountable to the Board of Directors. They are a professional leader and visionary, with a passion for education in both Judaic and General Studies, who recognizes the importance of developing every child’s individual talents and abilities.
The Head of School is responsible for education and curricula strategy, planning and oversight; faculty recruitment, development, supervision and retention; student recruitment and retention; fundraising; community relations as well as administrative and fiscal oversight.
The Ideal Candidate
Ideally, the Head of School is someone who is enthusiastic about Judaism, who can put themselves in multiple aspects of the entire community and build the ruach (spirit) of this school, who can translate ideas into action and has shown an ability to successfully carry through on projects and hold those involved accountable. They should be an absolute evangelist for our school and our values who can then sell the concept of the importance of an education through a Jewish lens.
Qualifications
- Masters-level degree in education or educational leadership, with some supplemental training preferred.
- At least five (5) years experience in a leadership / administrative position.
